How To Turn Off Your Water

Turn Off Procedure
Locate your customer valve or house valve. The valve is usually located on a hose bib where the plumbing service line enters the house. A hose bib is an exterior water faucet with a threaded end to connect a lawn or garden hose. Turn the gate valve clockwise to turn off water flow. See left-hand illustration in diagram below.

Emergency Meter Valve
If the operation of the customer valve does not turn off your water, then locate the meter valve on the street side of the meter assembly and turn the meter valve a ΒΌ turn clockwise to turn off water. See right-hand illustration in diagram below.

Turn Off Assistance
If you are unable to locate the valve or turn off your water, contact the Customer Service Department for assistance.
